The Little Mermaid at the seashore is something you shouldn't miss. Bases on Andersen's story character, she appeared here in the beggining of the 20th century and since then had become the symbol of Copenhagen and Denmark. She's sitting on the stone not far from the castle, observing with a little sadness the wide panorama of the bay.

Amalienborg is the home of the Danish royal family. The palace is named after Amalia, the wife of Friederich the 3rd, who was the first one to live at this spot. It's unique because it isn't just a building, but a whole plaza, composed of the identical buildings, each named after diffirent kings of Denmark with Friederich 5th statue in the middle. The green enbankment in front of the palace complex had the great view on the contemporary Ekvipagemestervej opera theater.

Technically speaking Stroget isn't one street, but the chain of pedestrian streets and small plazas making the longest shopping promenade of Europe. It's the major must visit of Copenhagen. The leasury strall along the street, picking into the shops or stopping for a cup of coffee in a causy coffee shop is one of Copenhagen's greatest experience.

Kongens Nytorv (New Kings square) is located at the end of the Stroget street. It's the largest square of Copenhagen. Important buildings facing the square include the Royal Danish Theater from 1874, the Charlottenborg Palace from 1671 (now the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts), the Thott Palace from 1683 (now the French Embassy), the Hotel D'Angleterre and the Magasin du Nord department store.

Nyhavn means a New Harbour, is a 17th-century waterfront, canal and entertainment district, one of most distinct areas of the city. It's famous for brightly coloured 17th and early 18th century townhouses and bars, cafes and restaurants. The canal harbours many historical wooden ships, which are defenitely worth seeing. On the way, make stops at such symbols of the state as the fairy-tale born Little Mermaid and by the palace that the Danish Royal Family calls home, the Amalienborg Castle.

You will then proceed with such famous highlights as the inspiring Tivoli Gardens and the Town Hall Square. Surrounded by a variety of architectural masterpieces, make your way towards Christiansborg Palace on a small island just off the city's main street. It is also the only building in the world that houses all three of a country's government branches - the Parliament, Prime Ministers Offices, and Supreme Court.

Having explored the impressive palace ensemble, you will enjoy one of the most animated locations in Copenhagen - the Stroget pedestrian street. Locals and visitors alike adore this inviting setting, often described as the backbone of the capital city.

After yards of boutiques, cafés, and a medley of buildings, you arrive at the open public square of Kongens Nytorv. Just a step away from here is the entertainment district built around the 17th-century canals of Nyhavn. It is known as the new harbor area in Copenhagen, and it always keeps impressing with its elegant boats and vibrantly colored townhouses lining the streets. One could say that Nyhavn's contradictory past has earned the area an honorable title of the heritage harbor it enjoys today.

4 hours later We will also reserve some free time for individual exploring and a quality coffee break in the itinerary to give you a gratifying experience of the city of Copenhagen before heading back to your hotel.
