Detailed Program

Time Description
Arrival in Tallinn, optional transfer to Hotel Radisson Blu Olympia**** or similar, check-in, welcome meeting to get to know your fellow travelers.
The day begins with Lahemaa National Park 2 hour walking tour (medium) to see beautiful untouched nature and many charming manor houses and a visit to the impressive Manor House in Palmse.
After the walk we’ll travel on to Tartu, the University Town. The Tartu tour includes the walk through the charming Old Town and the stop by the University founded in 1632.
In the afternoon we’ll continue cross the border of Latvia to Cesis. It’s a very old city, founded in Hanseatic times with winding streets, castle ruins and beautiful gardens. Check-in at Hotel Cesis*** or similar.

DAY 3:           TO VILNIUS

The morning begins with a drive through the Gauja National Park to Sigulda, a holiday resort. We’ll make a stop to see the ruins of the Episcopal Castle and the ruins of the Castle of the Knights of the Sword before we continue on towards Vilnius.

Along the way we’ll stop for the tour of the magnificent Rundale Palace, the former summer house of the Duke of Courland. After that we’ll arrive to Vilnius at late afternoon. Check in at Hotel Radisson Blu Lietuva**** or similar.

Vilnius is full with the medieval charm and beauty. It is 74 quarters large, with 70 streets and lanes numbering 1487 buildings. It is a place where some of Europe's greatest architectural styles - gothic, renaissance, baroque and neoclassical - stand side by side and complement each other.

In our sightseeing tour you’ll enjoy a panoramic tour of the city and a walking tour of the Old Town with Vilnius Cathedral, Gediminas Tower, Peter and Paul Church, St. Anne’s Church, Old University and the Gates of Dawn.

After the Vilnius tour we’ll travel to Trakai Castle, located on an island in Lake Galvė. Trakai was one of the main centers of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the castle held great strategic importance. It is the most spectacular of Lithiania's remaining castles, with tall brick walls and wooden walkways.
We’ll spend the rest of the day driving to Klaipeda, where we arrive at late afternoon. Check-in at Hotel National**** or similar.

We’ll spend the day at the nature’s unique creation - the Curonian Spit, a thin, 100 km stretch of land between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon. There are numerous small fishing villages, pine forests and endless sand dunes all along the spit. We’ll make the first stop at the Hill of Witches in Juodkrante. Later we’ll travel to Nida, the largest town of the spit, where we visit the High Dunes, Thomas Mann’s summerhouse.
Check-in at Hotel Nidos Banga***. Dinner at hotel.
DAY 6 - 11:    IN NIDA

Since prehistoric times people have lived on this elongated sand dune peninsula which separates the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea. Its survival to the present day has been made possible only as a result of ceaseless human efforts to combat the erosion of the Spit. You can visit the Cormorants and Herons colony, an unusual bare place that still impresses everybody. You can also travel to the Grey Dunes (sometimes called Dead Dunes), a fascinating area of wind-blown dunes and grassy, vegetation-covered sand hills where you’ll be able to walk and be impressed by the sheer scale of the landscape.

Few other things to do may be: biking on the spit, hiking in the dunes, boating in the lagoon, swimming in the sea, sun bathing on the sandy beach, playing tennis in the sun, enjoying smoked fish, attending the many summer concerts and enjoying life in full scale.
DAY 12:         TO KLAIPEDA

Last day to finish whatever you still haven’t done, or just enjoy the beauty of the Curonian Spit. Late in the afternoon we board the coach which brings us up the spit and back to Klaipeda. Check-in at Hotel National**** or similar. The optional Lithuanian dinner at Restaurant 19th Century is available in the evening

Klaipeda's Old Town is different from the rest of Lithuania since it has a lot of German and Scandinavian architecture. It is unique with its fachwerk architectural style and the planned street structure, can't be found in any other old town in Lithuania.  We’ll visit the Theater Square and the Simon Dach Fountain.

In the afternoon we’ll travel to the Samogitia National Park, for a walking tour around the Lake Plateliai. After the spectacular walk we’ll continue to Siauliai and Hill of Crosses, one of the most sacred sites of Catholic Lithuania.
Later we’ll drive across the Latvia border to Riga and check-in at Hotel Radisson Blu Latvija**** or similar. The optional organ concert at the Dome Cathedral is available in the evening.
DAY 14:         IN RIGA

Old Town of Riga is famous for its cathedrals, old buildings, churches. Take a walk through the labyrinth of the narrow brick streets, enjoying the colorful buildings, little shops and sweet restaurants. See the famous Dome square and cathedral, Castle with the Castle square, Town Hall, house of the Blackheads and others.

The optional tour to Jurmala is available in the afternoon. Jurmala is Latvia’s most famous seaside resort with gorgeous wooden houses and sandy beaches. The highlight of the day is an easy walk down the seashore on the soft sand, perhaps looking for the golden dot of amber washed by the sea to the shore.
The optional Latvian dinner at the stylish Restaurant Forest is available in the evening.

We’ll start the day with the beautiful drive along the coastal highway to Parnu, one of Estonia’s most popular summer resorts. After a short tour we’ll continue north to Tallin and arrive there in the afternoon, check-in at the Hotel Radisson Blu Olympia**** or similar.

Tallinn is a beautiful medieval city with unique charm and beauty. The Old town hasn’t been touched by the modern life, so you can travel centuries back in time. The sightseeing tour takes us around the old medieval city walls and into the Old Town where we see Toompea Castle, Dome Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, medieval Old Town Hall and Great Guild Hall.
Tour concludes. Optional transfer to the airport.
