My wife & I recently spent five days in St Petersburg. We are used to travelling independently but due to lack of Russian language skills thought it may be prudent to book a guide. After extensive research on the net we chose Ulko Tours. It was the best decision we made. Elena tailored a tour to suit our needs. Our guide Diana was fantastic. She was a Russian encyclopedia on legs. Anything seemed possible when touring with Diana. At one point she got us into the Hermitage before it had opened. Our drivers were excellent always on time .
We can't praise Elena highly enough. The St Petersburg leg of our month away was the highlight.

Ulko Tours organized a excellent and enjoyable 4 days tour for our group of 18 people which consists of elders and young children. They were quick in responding to our requests and could arrange everything for us without delay. We had also have a amazing guide, Mariana, who was very knowledgeable and informative about all the places in St. Petersburg, and always carry a smile on her face. The whole tour were well planned and on time. Restaurant and food choices were excellent too. We enjoyed every moment in the beautiful city of St. Petersburg except on the last day when we missed our train from St Petersburg to Moscow. But thanks to Elena's prompt arrangement that we could manage to go to Moscow by plane on the same day without messing up our travel plan. Elena actually bought the air tickets and waited for us at the airport before we arrived there!

We booked a one day private tour of St. Petersburg for 2 families and cannot make enough positive comments about the service we received. We were lucky enough to have Marianna for our tour guide through Ulko Tours. Marianna, met us directly outside of the passport control area and led us to a Mercedes van where we met our driver, Andrew. We visited most of the major attractions in the area. We were driven within steps of most of these and never waited in lines! Marianna did a wonderful job. She showed us so much in a limited time space and explained everything in detail leaving nothing out.
Would recommend to anyone wishing a small group seeing as much as possible in a short time. Amazing! Would definitely use them again.

On July 9th and 10th, 2012, my wife, I and two friends took a 2-day Ulko Tour of St. Petersburg. We visited Peterhof and its fabulous fountains and gardens, the Catherine Palace, Peter and Paul Fortress, the Hermitage, St. Isaacs Cathedral, the Church of the Spilt Blood, and the Grand Choral Synagogue. Our tour guide, Marianna, was fantastic and brought a special flavor to all that we saw. Although I had been in St. Petersburg on business a few times before and had some limited sight seeing, I learnt so much more from Marianna. We also had an excellent driver who was able to negotiate some very tight spots. My wife and I highly highly recommend this Elko tour as well as our guide, Marianna, to anyone contemplating visiting St. Petersburg, Russia.

She has a very deep knowledge of the city, an engaging way of conveying the history of the city, and was eager to help me experience all of the best that the city has to offer. She also has a great sense of humor and was always willing to do whatever she could to ensure I had a great tour (including walking around Catherine's Palace in pouring rain). I came away with a much deeper understanding of Russian history and life in modern St. Petersburg as well as what the city was like during Soviet and Czarist / Imperial times..»

We were absolutely thrilled with our tour and tour guide in St Petersburg. Elena was very helpful and responsive prior to our tour and answered all my questions. Marrianna, our guide in St Petersburg was just wonderful. We never waited in line; she knew just what to do at the right time. Elena also booked our tour in Tallinn where we also had a great tour guide. I would strongly recommend ULKO Tours for anyone visiting St Petersburg.

We had two wonderful days on an Ulko tour the end of May in St. Petersburgh. Our guide was Marianna Tovmasyan who was excellent. She was very knowledgeable, friendly and speaks English well. Our driver was Denis who was also great. In fact, he is probably the best driver we have ever had anywhere. There is no other way to see St. Petersburgh then doing a private tour with Ulko. There were four of us and Marianna went out of her way to make sure we had a great tour and saw all of the important sites of the city. Would definitely do it again and use Ulko.

I would recommend Ulko tours to anyone who wants a quality tour in St. Petersburg. Everyone was very professional and pleasant. Marianna, our guide has a wealth of knowledge of all things Russian and Vladimir was an excellent driver.

My group of 6 took a wonderful two day tour with guide Marianna Tovmasyan. Every site was spectacular, from Peterhof to the Church on the Spilled Blood to the Hermitage, of course. Marianna took her time to help us appreciate the highlights of each site and the historical significance. I particularly appreciate how she explained the impact of the Soviet era and the Nazi seige on each of the historic sites we visited. We appreciated the restoration efforts of the past few years all the more.

Reviewed September 16, 2011 My husband and I selected the one-day moderate tour of St Petersburg when visiting this fascinating city on a cruise. This was our second visit to St. Petersburg and this particular private tour met our needs perfectly. Our pre-departure questions and concerns were always handled promptly and professionally via phone and email. Our guide Marianna was exceptional...friendly, articulate and extremely knowledgeable. Our 10 1/2 hour day was well-paced but filled to the brim. We enjoyed every minute. Our driver was very professional and the air-conditioned car was a welcome respite from the summer heat. Since there were only 2 of us it was an expensive day but actually no more costly than if we had done these same activities through several shorter ship-sponsored tours on a bus with 35 other people. To top it off, our visits to these same attractions (city tour, Peterhof Summer Palace and Gardens, the Hermitage, The Church on Spilled Blood and St Issac's Catherdral) were much more indepth. It was a wonderful experience and we strongly recommend Ulko Tour Company.
