     It took us a while to return to our routine after our holiday in Russia so this is the fist time we could find to sit down and write to you.

     Eventually it took us quite a while to finally get back to South Africa because our flight from Moscow was cancelled. Emirates bussed us all the way back to Moscow to the fancy Milan hotel and only flew us out the next day! So we had to go through that terrible immigration twice and the second time they were very suspicious about us already having an exit stamp. We almost never got back to South Africa. The next night we had to sleep over in Dubai also at Emirates cost before being back in SA.

We visited St-Petersburg in April 2011 and made the choice to select a tour guide during our stay in the city. Choosing a guide from Internet brings a little apprehension and we choose Elena Ulko’s agency based on the numerous positive feedbacks found on the web.

From the very first contact with Elena, things started to get moving and preparing the trip to Russia was much simpler. Elena recommended a very nice hotel and organized our detailed visit agenda during our stay.

Upon our arrival, our driver Andrey, always very friendly and helpful took us to our hotel. The next morning our tour guide Luba was waiting for us and we started our guided tour. Luba was very knowledgeable and shared with us many details and information over the city’s history, buildings and off course art masterpieces that you will never learn, should you visit these places on your own. In addition, visiting the city with Luba gave us this feeling that we were not tourists, but visitors discovering with our private guide this exceptional city.

Elena (Ulko Tours) is very prompt and organised and everything went very smoothly from the driver who picked us up at the airport, through to Luba who guided us for two full days to the driver who returned us to the airiport after five very enjoyable days in St Petersburg.  

Luba gave us very comprehensive information and facts on St Petersburg and the sights we visited and I have come home with some great memories and a far greater knowledge of Russian history than I would have ever dreamed of.

Our remaining three days on our own was about right if you want to stay in the St Petersburg as we were able to explore some other places, shop and enjoy the Russian pace of life. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ulko Tours and they made our stay very enjoyable and stress free. Thank you.

Our guide, Luba, was excellent. She was incredibly knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions on a variety of topics. We enjoyed our 2 days with her and felt that we had truly gotten a bit of a Russian perspective, not an easy thing to do in a country where many people do not speak much English. We were traveling with our adult children and felt that Luba tried very hard to determine what we each wanted to see and point out those details. I highly recommend Ulko Tours. We would liki to thank you for making our 50th anniversary cruise such a wonderful experience. We would especially liki to thank you for making the arrangements so we could visit Baby Home 7 where our youngest granddaughter lived for the first 18 months of her life. It was wonderful to see some of her caretakers, who remembered her, and to toour the home and see the addition of many educational and enrichment facilities and equipment. Of course, the trip was enriched by our guide, Luba, who provided historical insight to all the wonderful places we visited. St. Petersburg is a beautiful city and we were able to enjoy its many historic sites through your careful planning and Luba's skill at navigating the crowds at some of the locations.
